The Brown University Department of Biostatistics held a welcome reception to kick off the 2022- 23 academic year where we recognized:

• 4 incoming PhD students  
• 21 returning PhD students and candidates 
• 21 incoming Master’s students
• 20 returning 2nd-year Master’s students 
• 12 Undergraduate Statistical Concentrators

In addition, the Department welcomed Assistant Professor on the Teaching Scholar Track,  Anarina Murillo. This brings the Department’s total complement of faculty to 20; 17 with primary appointments and 3 with secondary appointments. 

We are excited for this new academic year and welcome our 78 graduate students and current contingent of undergraduate concentrators, as well as all of our faculty and staff!  We are looking forward to an engaging and energized 2022-23 academic year!
