The Center for Biostatistics and Health Data Science (CBHDS) at Brown University advances statistical and data science methods to address important challenges in medicine and public health. Our faculty and staff develop innovative approaches in biostatistics, data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and apply these methods to clinical trials, electronic health records, medical imaging, and other complex health data.

CBHDS brings together statisticians and data scientists who collaborate with investigators across Brown University, affiliated health systems, and national and international research networks. Established in 1995 as the Center for Statistical Sciences, CBHDS builds on a longstanding tradition of methodological innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration. The center is located within Brown’s School of Public Health at 121 South Main Street in Providence.
