Christopher Schmid, Ph.D. Brown University Professor of Biostatistics received the Shadish Recognition for Extraordinary Service from the Society for Research Synthesis Methods (SRSM) at its 2023 conference. The conference was held in Paris, France from July 5- July 7, 2023. SRSM is a cross-disciplinary society that supports and promotes the development and use of innovative and robust methods of research synthesis, also known as meta-analysis. The Shadish Recognition, named for William Shadish, professor of quantitative psychology and a founding faculty member at UC Merced, is given to an individual who has made extraordinary service contributions to the SRSM. Schmid has been a member of SRSM since its founding in 2006. He was also the founding co-editor of the Society's journal, Research Synthesis Methods from 2010-2014. He also served as President-Elect, President and Past President of SRSM from 2018-2021 and has been a member of SRSM since its inception in 2006.
