Future Professional goals: "A lady with ambition, is a lady on a mission."
My professional goal is to advocate for public policy that is just and equal amongst all populations. I plan to study populations that are at a disadvantage and produce policy that offers equal opportunity and a level playing field to people battling opioid addiction or any other health disparities. I want to create a chain of mental health drug facilities in low-income communities. These facilities will specialize in minority healthcare services which will provide affordable healthcare services to users suffering from substance abuse. This facility will offer MOUD (opioid agonist medications) and mental health social groups that will provide emotional support throughout their process. I will also provide housing and food resources to these network users to assist them along their journey to recovery. I want to create and design effective methods that demonstrate the affected population and produce evidence based practices to help eliminate/ minimize OUD and implement safe practices for these populations. I plan to combat healthcare systems that over prescribe and mishandle opioids to people suffering from OUD in low income minority communities.
