Master of Science Thesis Award of Excellence
Since 2012, we have recognized the thesis work of Master of Science graduates whose outstanding research work has resulted in a consequential thesis.This year, the Master of Science Thesis Award of Excellence was awarded to Amos Okutse, for his thesis entitled, “Machine Learning Methods for Bias Correction and Precision Optimization Using Covariate Adjustment in Randomized Trials With Missing Data” Amos worked with Joseph Hogan, Ph.D. as his thesis advisor.
Capstone Poster Award of Excellence
Every year, the Undergraduate Statistics Concentration students are required to exhibit their research work through poster presentations. On April 21st, 7 graduating statistics undergraduate concentrators presented their Capstone work. The 2023 Capstone Poster Award of Excellence was awarded to Nathan Provost, for his poster entitled “Asymptotic Error Bounds for Nonparametric Censoring Unbiased Estimators of Restricted Mean Survival Times”, Nathan’s Capstone Advisor was Roee Gutman, Ph.D.
