Biostatistics faculty members attended the conference and some gave presentations:
- Christopher Schmid, Ph.D. gave two talks titled, “Considerations for accurately estimating variance components in Bayesian multi-level model for meta-analysis of RCTs” and "Considerations for accurately estimating variance components in Bayesian multilevel models for meta-analysis of N-of-1 trials"
- Arman Oganisian, Ph.D. gave a talk titled, "Bayesian Semiparametric Models for Sequential Treatments Strategies with Informative Timing"
- Ph.D. Candidate, Kexin Qu gave a talk titled, "Instrumental Variable Approach to Estimating Individual Causal Effects in N-of-1 Trials: Application to I-STOP-AFib Study"
- Incoming Ph.D student, Amos Okutse, ScM '23 gave a talk titled, "Machine Learning methods for bias correction and precision optimization using covariate adjustment"
Biostatistics faculty members Lorin Crawford and Anarina Murillo also attended and spoke at the Diversity Mentoring Program Panel on August 8th.
