Each year, Brown’s PhD candidates and students present their research to the Department of Biostatistics faculty, students and visitors. This is an annual requirement for candidates and students who have passed their Qualifying Exams. The presentations occurred on April 19th. Each student had 15 minutes to present their work and then faculty members had an opportunity to ask follow up questions.
The purpose of this requirement is to allow our doctoral students the opportunity to present and discuss their research work which is an important ability which needs practice. These presentations also qualified each candidate for the annual PhD Research Presentation award which will be announced at our annual Biostatistics Commencement Celebration on May 25th.
